Is Bigg Boss Scripted or Pre-planned?
Bigg Boss, has always been in highlights for
being scripted and pre-planned television show. It has been coming under the
list of most controversial shows in India since many years.
The show is running on Colors Tv for years and
to not our surprise, the Bigg Boss show not only invites Colors channel actors,
chirographers but also, we have witnessed 'the face of colors' as Bigg Boss
winners like Dipika Kakar Ibrahim in BB S12, Siddharth Shukla in BB S13, ShwetaTiwari in BB S4, Urvashi Dholakia in BB S6 and most recently Rubina Dalik in BB S14. All of this supports the stand the Bigg Boss show can be somehow biased or
scripted towards some of the actors participating in the show. By noticing little
turning points, as an audience, more or less we get an instinct that Bigg Boss
is scripted or planned show but the question is still in debate. This raises
question whether it is a genuine show or there is something hidden from the
audience behind the ‘Bigg Boss Lens.’
Bigg Boss, a renowned television reality show,
was primarily premiered in Europe. The former Big Brother show was broadcasted
in 1999 on Veronica, Netherlands. The show gain massive popularity among
diverse audience but the language and geographical construction became the
restriction for the makers of entertainment industry. Watching the popularity of
the show, many countries including United States and Australia launched reality
shows with the same name. Soon, after Big Brother hit billions in dollars, it
was adopted in other countries in Asia, like India. The show received appreciative
response from the mainstream audience. Later, the makers did few changes
and renamed it as Bigg Boss show.
In India, the first season of Bigg Boss was aired
on Sony TV in the year, 2006. It was a new show for most of the Indian
audiences and not only attracted audiences from India, but people from across
the border, including audience from Pakistan, showed their interest in the
show. Within few years, Bigg Boss became most rated hit show of the
year with higher TRP that showered fame and money in the show makers' pocket. Following
the journey of Bigg Boss into India and getting fame in Asia, many reporters
have spent time studying the makers' strategies to achieve record-breaking TRPs
every year.
This is how Bigg Boss has become a number one show in India. The question here is still unanswered whether it is scripted show or not. Report findings conclude it is slightly made-up show where actors do not get scripts to read and act accordingly on the show but the situations, they live-in are suspected to be molded by the show makers. There is a significant space for doubt that Bigg Boss show makers mold the situation inside the BB home to support or supress the actors they want to keep or eliminate from the show. The show hosts are also called out as biased at some points. Several tasks seem to be pre-planned, designated to make the situation more advantageous to the contestants on which makers have invested more. It is logical. Of course, Bigg Boss does not have a single or dual task prepared for a week. They have multiple tasks thought off and planned by a team and the makers use the tasks accordingly to favor or disfavor contestants.
Bigg Boss has been claimed many times for
being a biased show when the short cut out and edited an hour clip of the BB
house focuses more on the activities of the contestants towards which the
makers seem to be biased. More of their shorts are added and premiered on the
screen to slowly persuade the audience to watch them and like them as their 'favorites'
too.
