Afghan Women feel threatened in Afghanistan after Taliban takeover, Truth or Deception?

When digging deep the news trending on internet that Afghan woman feeling threatened in Afghanistan after Taliban took the reign, seems falsified news. Here is why? Afghani woman have not been living in the threat and they have not been threatened for sentence to death for years under Taliban rule. As evidence the census shows the total female population in Afghanistan is 48.68% in 2020 which is nearly 19,154,303 present population of women in the country. The women lives were never under attack or threat as it has been shown and augmented after American army attack. It feels like, it has been rumored and intensified as a threat to women news to show vulnerability towards the feminists who want to leave the country and migrate permanently.
Okay let us see the issue from a different angle. Why are only Afghani women in target of feeling oppression and have been reported to be claiming and fighting for their rights and freedom in Afghanistan after Taliban took over the reign? There are underdeveloped countries as Somalia, Africa and Sudan where the lives of women and children are more jeopardized and endangered but we do not see their issues being raised on the internet on a daily basis. How then all of a sudden Afghan women started to feel threatened in Taliban’s rule? There is some serious media monopoly running behind the news in trend.
The long-lasting fight between America and Afghanistan has been the reason behind magnifying and portraying women as victims under Taliban reign. Afghanistan is an Islamic country with majority of Muslim men and women constituting the nation. Like other Islamic countries, Afghanistan has some ethical rules as per Shariah which restricts both men and women from engaging in activities that are forbidden and not appreciated in Islam. It is the responsibility of the governor or the official of the country to keep close attention to the activities and allow and disallow certain activities as per compliance to religion.
The cultural difference also comes into play as the Asian culture is explicitly different from the European or western followed culture. Western cultures are more open to anything while cultures of the Asian regions are a mix. Asian’s view is slightly different from Western’s view of the world. If their women wear hijab their men don’t come out in public in Bermuda shorts. It is considered indecent dress. Men and women both are restricted by regulations.
Taliban as being Muslim advisors strictly look after country matters which does not conclude they are oppressors as the male bodies. They do not allow activities which are forbidden and are not. Other oil rich nations like Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, Kuwait are never been in question though they share the same cultural values and practice Islam as religion. What makes the difference here is America’s incapacity to overtook these countries.
Taliban as wrong doers and portrayed as misogynists against women by a majority class of ‘Feminists’. The claims are wrapped up in a feminism fold denoting that Taliban are a big threat to the woman in the Afghanistan. The concept of feminism has been perceived differently between the same gender. The differing concepts of feminism has generated groups among the same gender. Even one woman’s supporting view of feminism can differ with another woman.
Some women call the right to work freely and equally to the men in the society as feminism. They do with the intention to bear expenses of their own and contribute more to their family in financial terms. Some women develop hatred for men in the society due to their past bad experiences and think that men are not equal to them. Some woman develops perceptions that the notion of respect is reserved for them only and all men in the society are unworthy of respect which is a strong negative impact of wrongly conceptualized feminism.
In this world, where falsified news is presented in an appealing wrapper of swelling treat. Majority believes what comes to them as trending without digging deep into the matter. It is the time, we stop believing single stories and look on the bigger side of the picture and investigate at our own. As Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie highlighted we need to open our eyes and we should not single stories. The cultural differences and religious point of views certainly not threaten but like every culture in the region they share both positive and the negative sides of the picture. We ought to closely check before believing in any news landing on our homepage.
